Get out on the water safely this summer by completing a RYA powerboat course. Powerboat courses will provide you with the necessary skills to operate on the water safely.

Find a suitable course from the list below and then pick a location local to you. Different clubs can run the courses in slightly different ways, so to see the courses your local club is running, pick a club from the locations list in the navigation bar. Alternatively follow the course link and filter by the location.

RYA Powerboat Level 1

Even if you have no powerboating experience we would always recommend starting with the powerboat level 2 course. Details are below.

With no experience necessary, always start with your PBL2

RYA Powerboat Level 2 looks at launching and recovery, boat handling, securing to a buoy, anchoring, leaving and coming alongside, man overboard and other techniques to get out on the water safely.

The PBL2 course is an essential course for anyone working on the water, and is a prerequisite for many marine qualifications.
